Well here we are again and what a fab weekend I had! On Saturday a local beauty salon was looking for a model and being a Cindy Crawford lookalike (okay, I'm showing my age here!) I was summonsed. (Actually my friend works there and they were desperate!) Somebody was learning to apply St Tropez tan and they needed a guinea pig - so off I went! Sun kissed and painted nails later (she was learning that too!) I set off home to get ready to go out.
My friend is going through a separation at the moment too, so it's like reliving mine 18 months on! We both needed a good night out so we went to a local bar called The Fountain. Great place - my neck began to hurt after about 3 minutes though as I was swivelling so much looking at MEN! We had such a great time that we went on to a club afterwards.
I am of course (ahem, I have my fingers crossed behind my back here), naturally poised, cool, calm and collected. I move like a panther combined with a beautiful butterfly. Right, that'll be why I tripped up the stairs in front of about 100 people and landed flat on my face then. Eeeek! So much for cool street cred! I managed to heave myself up without the aid of a crane (and of course I'm SURE that lots of men would have rushed to my aid had they not been bent double laughing) and recovered my composure. I went outside for some air (said friend was still in shock waiting for me at the bottom of the stairs) and managed to clear an area of space around me by giggling uncontrollably. Standing on your own laughing manically isn't a good look.
By that time I was a bit bruised and feeling the effects of the night. I was wistfully thinking of hot chocolate and warm slippers by just past midnight, so we came home. By the time we got home though I had a second wind and we sat up chatting until 6.00 a.m.! I can't remember the last time I saw the light come up like that but it was fun.
